Hello, I'm Laura

My love of gardens began long before I ever picked up a camera.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are rooted in our garden flat in Bristol, where my parents each tended their own beds on either side of the garden. Starting with the same blank canvas, they created two completely different spaces—each beautiful in its own way. At the time, I was far more interested in building dens and watching the birds than understanding the care and patience that went into it all. But something quietly took hold.

Today, my own garden has become a place of stillness and return. In the early hours, as the light shifts and the day begins, it offers a kind of clarity that continues to inform the way I see and photograph the natural world.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to photograph some truly special gardens across Cornwall and Devon. Each one has its own rhythm and character—some wild and untamed, others carefully structured, and many striking a perfect balance between the two. These are spaces created not just to be seen, but to be experienced.

My work is rooted in an appreciation for both design and atmosphere.

I approach garden and botanical photography with a considered, intuitive eye—drawn to nuance, seasonal change, and the interplay of light, texture, and form. My aim is to create images that feel both natural and enduring, capturing not just how a space looks, but how it feels to be within it.
